Ok, so I left some room for all the other movies from King coming out that will all be better than The Langoliers. That movie was horrible, and by far the worst adaption from a great Stephen King story! Let the comments begin! :-)

Jeez I disagree strongly with a couple of those man - The Mist over The Dead Zone (still creepy as hell) - and Maximun Overdrive #12?! I love King but his movie was a piece of crap...
And except for insane last third (and the whole cat subplot) I thought Cat's Eye really captured the feeling of a King short story - warts and all...

That's why it is in the order of how much I like them, rather than how it compares to King's original story. And Maximum Overdrive is the shit!!! One of the best bad movies ever!!! plus and all ACDC soundtrack! How can you go wrong?!

Ii loves me some DC - and i hear ya man it's all taste... i'm just looking at the overall "movie quality" of some of those pics - ya know, acting, lighting, editing... the "movieness" if you will. And by that standard Apt Pupil should be higher than Graveyard Shift in my humble opinion.
Fun list though!

Thanks man... If we were going to rank them closest to winning an Oscar, then my list would change greatly! haha

Ok....I KNOW it was a bad movie, I KNOW I shouldn't love it to death.....But I can watch The Mangler ALL FUCKING DAY! lol

Don't worry... The Langoliers makes The Mangler look like it should have got a Best Picture Oscar Nomination

I think you're missing "Dolan's Caddilac", with Christian Slater. It was surprisingly better than I expected.

Visit "The Pauline Hickey Fan page" or "Pauline Hickey Vintage Porn" for dozens of naked images of one of the most incredible birds of all time. By the way, i always liked "Maximum Overdrive" it is perhaps the most unpretentious film of all time.

I think this is an awesome list, although I'd probably bump up Maximum Overdrive because I'm nuts for that cheesy movie. I'd also probably put Storm of the Century a little farther up...I liked that flick.

I watched The Running Man right after I read the story and HATED it....maybe it's worth a rewatch.

I have to tell you that I thought your post was a fun one. I love lists to boot, but running down your favorite Stephen King movies was a great idea.

I'd like to add my two cents to the fun. I was cracking up when I saw The Langoliers way down there at number 50. Hysterical! But, it's funny, you can't seem to hide from that film, just like the characters in the film can't hide from the Langoliers. The film just seems to find you. I swear it's on TV every weekend and like a train wreck I cannot take my eyes off of a film that I don't disagree with you on belonging to the 50 hole. HA! Seeing that cast run from bad CGI is simply awe-inspiring!

But onto your top 45. I ccouldn't agree with you more. The Mist and Shawshank Redemption are simply amazing films by Director Frank Darabont. I am particularly fond of The Mist. What a movie. What an ending! Gawd!

Cujo. Wow. I really enjoyed this film and will be covering a review of it on my own site in the near future I hope. Like you, I agree it belongs in the top ten. It's really something special. Dee Wallace is sick! I love her! Stand By Me, another top ten! Misery too.

I really love Max Von Sydow, but I must admit I may need to see that again to recall if I liked it that much. It's been awhile. Amazing actor though. I've never seen IT or The Stand all the way through. Perhaps I need to see those along with Tommyknockers.

I don't have a clue about Riding The Bullet. I never did see Pet Semetary.

I don't recall much liking Emelio Estevez in Maximum Overdrive, but I was on a date when I was young and was thinking about the babe next to me all night at the theatre. But I get the ACDC love. That makes sense. They rock!

Children Of The Corn...don't know. Christine, been along time, but maybe it was better than I remember.

The Shining was brilliant. I'm assuming the classic Nicholson. Never saw Carrie, Salem's Lot.

I liked The Dead Zone more than you. Walken was amazing. I rank it in my Top 10. I'm probably in line with Anthony McAlistar on that film. It's one of the most beautiful, haunting movies to ever come down the pike.

No idea about The Night Flier.

Firestarter was good. Dolores Claiborne too. The Running Man... ah that hurts.

The Green Mile, while a little less classic than Shawshank or The Mist should be a little higher.

Never saw anything lower than that and I guess for a good reason. I'd be interested in The Storm Of The Century

Fab list. I credit Will over at Secure Immaturity for pointing your posting out to me. I quite enjoyed it. Thanks. I hope to cover a little King soon. I did do a review of The Mist at my place some time ago. Again, a great number one pick brother!

Thanks alot man! You really should see the ones that you haven't yet. I'm happy to see that you agree with my list for the most part. I look forward to reading your stuff in the future.
